Business letter book dated 16 August 1847 to 9 September 1850 of John Thomas Waterhouse, general trader and shipowner of Hobart. The letters are addressed to traders, agents in mainland ports and relate to cargoes of all kinds, including provisions, spirits etc.
In Wood's Royal Kalendar of 1849 - J. T. Waterhouse, shipping agent is listed as owning 6 ships (John Bull, Scout, Timbo, Triton, Waterlily and Maguasha)
