With the object of forming a body to be called the South African Returned Soldiers' Association a meeting of representatives of all Tasmanian contingents which served in the South African war was held in the R.S.L. rooms, Murray street, 3 September 1922. The Hon. Major Morrisby was in the chair. Mr. A. A. Hunt was appointed secretary pro tem. It was decided that all those present be formed into a provisional committee and that all ex-commanding officers be written to asking for their assistance.
