This daguerrotype may possibly be of Sophia Lee Archer nee Mattinson, who was born in 1809.
She married John Lee Archer, the Colonial Engineer and Architect, in 1833 aged 25. Pocket case constructed of wood frame, covered in embossed leather. When opened, it has one photograph in a frame made of brass and on the back side of the door a blue velvet embossed pad. Case is hinged with leather and closed with two small latches.

Record includes description (trade quarry man and carter, aged 28 in 1834, dark complexion, tattooed etc) and conduct record (hulk report bad, numerous charges of stealing, neglect of duty, absconsion etc brought by employer, Archer 1831-1834, further sentence, conduct at Port Arthur bad), recommended for conditional pardon 7n/46.

Black and white photograph showing dead horses on the beach. Photo caption says Beachey [Beachy] Bill's work, Anzac. "Beachy Bill" was the collective nickname given to a battery of Turkish guns located in a position known as the "Olive Grove". The guns were constantly seeking out targets on the beach at Anzac Cove, thus the nickname.
